Mother’s Day

Sunday is Mother’s Day, which is a very busy day for restaurants.  When it comes to giving mom a gift, restaurants can be a great way to go.  You can take her to her favorite place, give her a gift card or a subscription.  Restaurant.com put together this Mother’s Day Pop Quiz to help you decide what to do for mom this Mother’s Day.

Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is here.  If you’re in the Louisville area for the event, check out Southern Accents “Kentucky Derby: Experience Louisville” for great places to try.

Restaurants Celebrating Death of Osama bin Laden

Last Sunday night Americans were given the news about Osama bin Laden.  Not even a day later, Eater.com posted how several different restaurants were/are offering specials in celebration.

Grape Tomato Recall

This week we learned about many recalls on grape tomatoes due to Salmonella risk.  Food safety news covered this recall with more details on places affected.

Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, with celebrations coast to coast, border to border.  We covered in our blog what restaurants were doing and a few recipes.  Continue the celebration this weekend and give one of these recipes a try.
