New from Vulcan: an ENERGY STAR® certified 35-pound value gas fryer.  With a production capacity of 56.8 lbs./hr. and a 50 percent cooking efficiency rating, the VEG cooks 10 lbs. more per hour than a standard economy fryer and reduces operational costs through energy savings. Plus, the fryer may also qualify for energy rebates at time of purchase!

The VEG fryer is comprised of a stainless-steel fry tank and door, making it easy to clean and durable to stand up to the daily wear and tear in any kitchen environment. Standard millivolt controls eliminate the need for an electrical hook-up, resulting in additional flexibility for fryer placement under the hood.

Vulcan’s VEG fryer is ideal for cooking a variety of fried menu items, including frozen appetizers, French fries and chicken wings.  Have you ever served fried avocados?  With the VEG fryer, use the recipe below to introduce a new, appealing item to your menu that your customers are sure to love.

FRIED AVOCADOS

Ingredients:

  • 10 avocados
  • 10 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup herb seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 10 eggs, beaten

Multiply ingredients as necessary to get the desired amount.

Directions:

  1. Heat oil to 350°F.
  2. Peel and slice avocados lengthwise into 8 sections. Remove the pit.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the flour, herb seasoning and cumin
  4. Place the beaten eggs into a shallow dish.
  5. Dip avocado slices in beaten egg, and then in mixture. For a thicker batter, repeat the dipping process.
  6. Fry the coated avocado slices in the hot oil for 3 to 5 mins., or until golden brown.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy with Ranch dipping sauce!
